South African Hoodia

This is a plant that can be used as weight-loss aid because of its effect on controlling or suppressing the appetite. It was discovered by the San tribe of the Kalahari Desert, who have used it for centuries during the long trips of hunting and times of scarcity to suppress the hunger and appetite. It is remarkable that this tribe, while consuming Hoodia, and little to no food, still have the energy to hunt for food in the desert.

This plant contains a molecule -called the p57 molecule, that several researches believe act on the brain by mimicking the effects that glucose have on nerve cells, thus making the brain believe we are full and satiated. Several tests and studies suggest that the supplementation with Hoodia have an impact of obese and overweight people, by helping them reduce the food intake in up to 1000 calories a day.
